Shot-gun shells & lilac blooms
Black bridles and spring rains
Pastures green & empty rooms
Life’s costs get measured out ‘gainst gains
Tractor tires & prairie smoke
Flowing manes and hand-hewn beams
Vast sunset skies & words un-spoke
Dreams unfulfilled get factored in it seems
Pick-up trucks & cherry blossoms
Oak cart wheels & bright bird song
Licking flames & night-fires awesome
Healing arts making right what’s wrong
Power tools and evening’s breeze
Chrome horse hames and cool field stone
Though men cower there upon their knees
At home of course fools wild love alone
Green absinthe & blue-eyed grass
Iron horse shoes & soft summer trails
The source of All, their fall, the dark-haired lass
She inspires Hope when men and all else fails
