Love Returns

Love Returns
Violet are the lowly clouds tonight
And golden is this evening's sky
High above bold geese take flight
Leaving us below just wondering 'why?'
In the hedgerow there are catbirds
And wolf hounds tonguing way off yonder
I'll let the changling season scribe these words
By this our sunset held in wonder
Now cranes cackle through the distance
While chirp black crickets underfoot
Steeds haltered lead without resistance
To stalls content to just stay put
Resplendent purple bleeds unto payne's gray
In today's last orange gasp and breeze
"Love true returns" we hear it say
When sunrise takes night to its knees
Dusk whisks all cloud wisps away
And then in-the-moment I surrender
On beds still warm come must winter lay
For Autumn takes what gold we lend Her
Off the seaboard clouds dark swirl violent
While underfoot our good Earth gently quakes
Eerily tonight grows now Nature silent
For She slays all Beauty that love makes
