Universal Sages
We are like the stars by daylight
Still there, but hidden in the Sun
We shine brightest through the blackest night
By dawn our celestial circle work seems done
Our words are like the seeds of summer
Barely noticed amidst all the green
Leaves shelter forest lovers & true drummers
Come autumn might then grouse-in-flight be seen
We thrive within vast plains of windswept brome
Below mid-summer heat above gold meadows
We survive there 'til spring brings us home
From out cold winter's snows & long black shadows
Come fly with me upon the evening breeze
Through molting summer's moonlight phases
By mornings lie with me beneath cool trees
Our flights resumed 'round midnight blazes
Re-winged then, take my hand, hold tight
Soaring past our most controversial ages
We see things rune written, kept from sight
Restoring vision amongst universal sages
