Iron, Water, Stone & Wood

Iron, Water, Stone & Wood
Among things we take for granted
Are iron, water, stone and wood
Though you might think we know them
Unworked, they're not yet understood
You will not set a fire so hot
Without a well-fit arch of stone
And good hard wood to fuel the flames
To render iron soft & redly blown
To harden hot steel blades once forged
You'll need a pail o' water cold
Plus mastery, speed & craftsmanship
Success depends 'pon knowledge old
Your atheame will not hold its edge
If not worked fast, steam vulcanized
'Fit with a grip of figured wood
From trees mystic & dream-recognized
To hone two edges razor-sharp
It takes a special fine grit-stone
'A warrior's soul & a laser-eye
And an eagle's spirit flight, alone!
