Love so freely given
Is love so truly spent
When you give your heart away
Only you shall be left to Lament.
The price of love is dear
It is just that it’s your soul
Would you give yourself away?
And never more be whole?
When they are dead and gone,
Where will your ‘other half’ lie?
Six feet under, in a crypt
And I will tell you why.
Because you gave yourself away
You should keep you for you.
Now you are despairing
Now what will you do?
You should have taken my advice
It will not ‘gain come round
It will stay forever more
And see you in the ground
Love so freely given
Is love so truly spent
When you give your heart away
Only you shall be left to Lament.
