Life

Age Group: Adult
Life flew by,
Like a blur in the sky,
Both light and dark shadows,
Have passed through my life.
I felt the warm breeze,
Like many others through the ages.
The sun beating down,
Yet caressing my skin.
I still hear the birds in the trees,
The smell of the ocean down on the beach,
Seeing the moonlight bright and glowing,
And the midnight sky full of twinkling stars.
I remember my children,
So lively and happy,
I recall the shades of paint on my house,
So bright and fresh.
I thought of how we met,
It moistens my eyes to this day,
I knew that you loved me,
Something I would never forget.
My life ebbs away,
Since it is my time to leave,
But I'll be born again,
And we'll meet someday.
Please don't weep at my grave,
I'll be back before you know it,
And even then, my spirit will linger,
As the memories of me, in your mind and heart.
