An ode to the softly shimmering ocean

Age Group: Teen
How the ocean glittered that day
Its waves great peaks of frosted blue
The clouds that parted to reveal
A sun of glistening light.
I walked along the beach that day
Dazzled by the light
The foam cascaded to my feet
Bejeweled with shards of crystal.
So much seemed to happen that day
The gulls flew overhead
The salty scent tingled my senses
Carried by the breeze.
I saw so much in the sea that day
All the beauty of the world
I breathed in the sun's golden light
And exhaled only air.
I sat upon the sand that day
A wide expanse of gold
Bedecked with a strip of silk
The softly shimmering sea.
