Water and Life

Age Group: Adult
When in the sky you see rain
Life will soon begin again
When the rain falls to the earth
From a womb there is a birth
When the rain to a stream forms
A child learns society's norms
When stream goes to river deep
Then society's rules it keeps
When a creature comes to drink
A sole experience makes one think
When that creature does a wee
Onewards forth in life it be
When the river is wide and slow
On to old age it shall go
When the river meets the sea
Death has come to greet with glee
When it merges with the tide
Spirits with the ancestors ride
When the sea to vapour turns
As the sun so brightly burns
See a spirit rising high
Soaring, floating to the sky
And amongst where Gods do dwell
See the clouds, they grow and swell
There is thunder and flash of light
Spirits stir there in the night
In the sky there now is rain
A new life will begin again
Author's Notes: A short poem incorporating the water cycle and the life cycle together. Need I say more?
