Purity - The Girl Who Believed

by Harakka Longstar
 Age Group: Teen

She stood at the edge of the world, blissfully naked, her feet against the soft earth and the grass between her toes. The freedom she felt was obvious and she glowed with delight as the breeze swept through her, making her shudder. This girls name was Josephine, and her life had never once fallen into the chains of the politically correct. She prided herself on being an individual, and never failed to express herself. This kind of passion was lost to the world that she knew, and as her mind wandered to the constant repression of anything beyond the norm, her heart sank and her smile faded. A cool, firm breeze roused her from thought and back to the side of the cliff.
As the sun rose from its slumber on the other side of the world, she felt the first rays of the new born light hit her body. Her spirit pulsed with joy and she just wanted to bellow out to the cascading ocean waves her love of the world she lived in. Instead, however, she satisfied her craving to show her appreciation to the earth by laying down her offering of milk and honey to the faeries in the void she had drawn in in the earth with her boline earlier that dawn. Within seconds, the mystical creatures leapt, hopped, danced, or whatever tickled their fancy over to the offering and gladly accepted it, much to Josephine’s elation. With a little squeal of joy, her legs left her control and skipped her around nature’s vast garden, and the fey that bubbled in every drop of her blood coursed through her until she felt like she was one of those faeries and devas that danced by her side.
