Until Then

Lonely, broken, by her Master
Spinning slowly, drowning faster.
She screams in silence, grips her chains
Would love like the hottest billowing flames
Would love me always, but none remains
Embracing me tightly, eyes cast down
Lips move urgently, but make no sound
And then she's gone, for ever more
Perhaps we'll meet again
One last time on distant shores.
Into the fire again
So I made a big mistake
I've taken all that I can
What you don't see is what I've done
What you don't see is what I've become
Am I wrong?
And I've got so far to go
In which direction no one knows
Home. Home, home, home.
No longer my soul weary to roam.
How long now, have I been gone?
The little ones, my little ones,
They are all grown.
They'll never see what I have shown.
They'll never understand
What I have known.
Perhaps in time we'll meet again,
All as one, as once we'd been
I'll show my light, reveal my heart
And carry on, until then.
Until then.
Author's Notes: Anyone who's a fan should recognize Alice in Chain's influence on this one. This one's also from a darker time, about friends and lovers lost.
