My Window

Age Group: Adult
From my window I can hear…
The stirring of life along the street
The rain soaked people scatter
Like a leaf in the autumn air.
My musings pull me down…
Into the green abyss of a blade of grass
And I stare up at the vastness
Of the azure sky in awe.
Bursting forth like a mini-comet…
I graze the tree line with my fingertips
Collecting the glistening rain in small handfuls
And then give it to the sleepy roses.
Dancing from cloud to cloud…
I wrap my arms around a star and squeeze
Laughing as the glittering dust covers me
I gaze at the moon as its light illuminates my soul
Distant music brings me gently to earth…
Caressing me with its velvet waves
I smile, full of the love I have for this life.
