The Beautiful Storm

They say it is darkest before the dawn
Today Mother Nature proved them all wrong
I woke to the blissful sound of thunder
Curled up with pillows I hoped it get louder.
With every roll came a flash of brilliant light
I opened the door to greet that white knight
Back to the pillows to take in the humid delight
That radiant morning was such an overdue sight.
The lawn lit up in all green and blue
I dare not blink or I could miss you
Taking in every second you were here
I welcome and honor you this is sincere.
My morning before dawn I could see very clear
With your help that I hold tight and quite dear
In my life your sights and sounds I will always allow
But the light and the rumbling is at a distance for now.
