The Old Priestess Cries

by Morgan Candela
 Age Group: Adult

Into my back its connected Webbed up in side Pulling Strings i want to bite through Why do i let you Why do i let you What if i let it go, what if i told you i was stronger Although through time in space Bite through Poison rush Vision within death of self A new one is born From the fiery spit of the snake At the base of my spine again I hope this/our F***ing contract is worth it I hope you see how beautiful/i see how beautiful I hope you/i are redeemed I dont know what i did Deep in a cave Way underground Maybe alone in a forest Maybe stealthily spying through a window I dont know what you did Maybe Digging up a statue Holding a dagger In a wooden cabin contemplating Hiding a secret Trying to make something And i mean make something Not let it be Can i let it be That is the answer It so simple and funny I am not you and you are not you I am not me and you are not me. Get over IT The old priestess cries Its too F***ing late! Its over my child! Confront and you will find A solid thick lump of gold deep in your belly A birthed fire unlike many A special storm (hiss) Her name was once Lilith and she was a dark jaguar A beast of the east as a sandy devouring dust cloud Her name is now the "sum of both hands" and she is a jaguar of light Holding just specks of the past for flair For contrast She is a water like fire A lava which does not burn She is an upward fountain Breaking block through She set herself F***ing free And again she is now the "eye" she is Me Me Me
Author's Notes: A poem written while reconciling and remembering painful past life imprints that had left me cold, closed and defensive deep in my heart. The power of the victim reclaiming and moving forward. The beauty of loving those inner demons who fought to protect or save our frailty from the abuse and shadow of others. We all played a part and now choose to let it go.
