Melancholy

Melancholy memories superficial dreams
You try to run you try to hide
And all you hear is screams
I closed my eyes it reappeared
Came right at me with no fear
I couldn’t run
My legs bore weights
Left me in an awkward state
Not confused
Yet not so sure
When my eyes opened its all a blur
Melancholy memories superficial dreams
What’s yours does not belong to you
Don’t try to mend the seams
Involuntary evolution
My bones stretch swell and conform
Amazed at the way my soul performs
It’s all deranged yet not in vain
Let go please I beg of you
Now what’s this one supposed to do?
Melancholy memories superficial dreams
Wisdom takes provision
The scales will start to lean
Waiting for yesterday to come again
Get your pencils erase the pain my friend
No more chances left to take
The house Jack built is the one you’ll break
The dream you left behind again
Won’t come back for you
Just when you thought you saw a friend
They turned to something rude
Melancholy memories superficial dream
What you see is what you get It’s ALWAYS what it seems
