NYC My Home Away From Home

The excitement of the city,
The pulse of the traffic,
The smell of this familiar place,
My Home away from home! NYC!
You are a safe haven to my soul,
I am alive and vibrant
standing on your streets
watching all the life you embrace.
You are like a Big warm hug,
always there, always inviting me,
To be myself!
To be filled with the energy that you
seem to fill me with
Each time I come back.
It doesn't matter how much time passes,
You are still awe inspiring!
I am always amazed at the feeling of such
freedom and belonging
The moment I step off the train.
The energy that you offer me,
Is but a gift that I always accept.
Thank you, NYC, for always being that,
vibrant, wonderful safe haven for me!
Author's Notes: I was in NYC last weekend to catch a broadway production. I wrote this poem on the way home from an amazing day. I will always think of NYC as my safe haven, my home away from home. I am so alive and happy when I am embraced in its arms. Peace, love, and light, Amber Moonstone
