"Full Circle of Passion"

I was sitting at the table having dinner with my daughter
and her new boyfriend, when we got on the subject of doing what you have passion for; he told me that when he first met me, he could see I was in a profession that was my passion. I proceeded to explain how my life came in a full circle two years ago. This was the story I told him:
When I was a teenager, a junior in highschool,
I was asked to be the lead in the musical, Funny Girl.
I told the director that I didn't sing but I could sew, and
I would do the costumes for the show.
It was my first design project.
I felt much joy and admiration
when I saw my work on stage.
I was bit by the theater bug for sure!
That was 33 years ago.
Two years ago, the costumes I designed for a traveling
Shakespeare company, made their way
to that same stage where I did my first show.
My passion had gone full circle. It was an epiphany for me!
To live your life's passion and it be the profession
that you chose for yourself,
is quite an accomplishment in life.
I chose my professional path out of my passion
for costume design.
I have no idea what else I would have done with my life had it not been for that first show as a teenager in highschool.
I want to thank my highschool English teacher, Christine D,
and my home Ec teacher Mrs. Mello
for inspiring me to follow my passion
for clothing design and writing.
They have always been a part of why I do what I do now.
I will hold their wise words of wisdom and intelligence in my heart till I depart this earth.
I encourage all people, young and old
to follow your heart's desires and passion
for what you truly enjoy.
Go do it!
It will only make you a happier person!
Author's Notes: Yes my profession, my passion, came in a full circle two years ago. It was quite an eye opener to say the least. On that day, I was able to see my English teacher and here's another twist to my story, she was the one that hired the company to perform at the school. Also, it was her very last year teaching and I was able to be a part of her time of retirement. I have been blessed for sure.
