"A Lesson of Learning to Love Again"

As I reflect back,
I am overcome with emotion.
You are still in there
In those deep places of my soul
I have been convinced that you have
vanished from those places
but you have emerged yet one more time
Is it another lesson I must learn?
Is it another reminder of that love
that was so intense and surreal
Yes it is a lesson,
a lesson that I have learned
so well, a lesson of self- preservation,
You became a lesson of
self-preservation when you left me,
I allowed you to inhabit my soul
and I allowed you to hurt me so deeply
One must always perservere, however,
and I am doing just that.
I will not allow another to inhabit my soul,
until that perfect soul comes along
and has the right to be beside my soul.
Yes, a lesson has been learned,
a new soulmate will enter my world,
I will allow this person to live in harmony
with my soul and not to posess it.
Lessons are being taught every day
We must learn from those lessons,
we must speak of those lessons,
and we must let go of those lessons.
When we let go,
then those lessons have been learned!
Author's Notes: I am always up for life's lessons. Even when they sneak up on you. I shall remain in the preservation mode, until that perfect soul for me, comes along.
