Winter in New England,
what a beautiful time of the year,
The birds have flown south,
the trees have grown bare.
The leaves have all fallen
making a bed for the wild,
a coolness has settled
but the weather is still mild.
This winter in New England,
is not a normal one,
it seems that global warming
has spoiled all our fun.
I long to skate on the local pond,
to watch my breath as I move around,
but its still warm here in New England
I cannot believe this warmth abound.
Where has the coldness gone?
I long for that winter chill
to make me light the fireplace
to watch as I sit very still.
Winter In New England,
usually has that frosty bite
and the beautiful snowflakes
all dusting and oh so white.
I am praying for a miracle
on this Christmas morn,
for Winter in New England
to bless us with a storm.
Let Mother Nature hear my cry,
to let some snow fall on that day,
just a dusting will do,
oh with this I pray.
"In all the heavens, stir it up
make a freezing windy gust,
blowing down on New England states
to bring the snow for it's a must!:
With this said, I shall retire,
into my warm cozy bed,
dreaming of cold, windy winds,
and snowballs forming in my head.
Happy Holidays to all and to all a good night!
Author's Notes: Happy Holiday season, and may the winds of New England chill the air and bring us snow for Christmas morn.
