Memories in Colors.....Part I

by Ladykelshan
 Age Group: Adult

Orange is a color that reminds me of taking a road trip down to Exeter, California, on the way to my Great Grandmothers' home, my mother and I would stop by the orange house, that sold orange pop.. it looked a lot like a little orange or orange pumpkin, just off the dirt road. The orange pop, was soo good and sooo coool!
Orange also reminds me of my orange jacket with the white fur all around the hood, and how I loved wearing my jacket!
Orange reminds me of the Morning drink that we would drink, when we all went camping. Good old Tang, Orange breakfast drink! LOL!
Red, reminds me, of my fifth, birthday....I was asked what did I want, to which I replied, "a red all over purse!" (Don't know why I wanted red, maybe friends had a purse that color, go figure!) I got the purse, with a gold chain handle, and I wore it out everywhere, till the purse got a hole in the side of the purse!
Red reminds me of red tennis shoes, that I really liked, I think maybe they could have been Keds, with a rubber tip on the top of my shoes....I couldn't wear them forever, as my feet began to grow! (I didn't think that was fair!) Red crossing guard out fits, and the way we all crossed together... two guards in front, two kids, two guards, three in back, and so forth, I can recall the attitudes those older kid guards, as well! LOL!
Red hair, on a younger friend of mine, who was spoiled, like you would not believe.....and everytime, she cried, or pouted, or looked cross-eyed at her parents, they would buy her something! Red also for her little sister, who was born years later, and whom had a wonderfully sweet disposition!!! (But, I still liked them both, anyways!)
Red also reminds me of , a red sweater that I wore, alot I loved that red sweater , until I out grew it! Red leaves, mixed in with other colored leaves in the fall. Red boots that go over your shoes, and were hard to pull off, if you had to get to your desk!
Red reminds me of a round, red, "donut" shaped panasonic radio, that my step dad, got me, and he gave his younger daughter a blue one, and we could put stickers on it, and twist it, to make the letter "S", and and or hang up somewhere!
Yellow reminds me of, yellow leaves in the rain, yellow glow in the dark, "Ray -O-Vac" shirts....I wore that shirt all of the time, and my step -sister wore hers too! We would wear them camping, and we would get them holier than holey! My step-dad, gave those shirts to us, he was a buyer for Lucky and other stores, and would get things like that, some times, and bring it home!
Yellow reminds me of the color hair that I didn't have, and I knew would never look great on me! Yellow, that I would put in the windows of a house that I had drawn, on black paper.. Yellow windows in the little doll house in the Goodnight Moon book, that I loved so much, Yellow book cover of our copy of "The Little Engine that could"! I liked the pictures, alot!
Yellow reminds me of the whipped up "shake" that my mother would send me outdoors with, that had brewers yeast or flavorings in it, like a ripe and yellow banana! Yellow, lemons from our tree in the backyard, that me and my brothers were not allowed to pick! Yellow pineapple juice and Graham Crackers for kindegarten snack, and I really didn't look that forward to THAT snack all of the time!
Green reminds me of my green sweater (when I either wore the red one or my green one!) Green grass, and the smell of freshly cut green grass. Sour grass....and chewin' on that sour , "you-don't -know-what's- peed-or -pooped- on -this -"yummy?" yellow flowered "food?!"
Green reminds me of boogers!" SORRY , , but that's a fact! certain vegies that I would put in as a mouthful, and stick them in the pouches of my cheeks, slowly swallowing down, with milk! Green spinach, that my brother "pretended with" to go use the bathroom, but, what he really did, was wad it up in a napkin, and throw it into the toilet, because he couldn't stand the taste! LOL!
