The Sandman he Cometh, and he Challenges# Two!

Age Group: Adult
Sandman:"Ahem! Did you stay up again, my dear?!"
Me:"Yep!"
Sandman:"Look, I gotta job to do, and you're fouling me up!"
Aren't you even going to get into the bed, and try to get "some" shut -eye???!"
Me:Well, I am a little bit tired....well (yawn) okay, ya saw me yawn!"
Sandman:"Yes, as a matter of fact, I did! You ARE tired..and a person like you, that is well, "not completely well" ......."
Me : (Interrupting him) :"What are you getting at!?"
Sandman:"I am only saying, that because you have some illnesses that are "the auto-immune kind", that YOU personally should be getting a LOT more sleep, than the other charges I deal with!"
Me: (looks at the floor, reluctantly) "Yeah, well, yeah...you're right, ..basically...but, I hate to sleep...well, I do like to sleep, because I love to dream...but, by the same token, ....I can't ALWAYS get to sleep!"
Sandman:"Look, I am not trying to be a pain, but, seriously, I have a job to do..and you are wrecking part of the fun for me..and also, I just want to see you happy, healthy and just feeling good, and seeing that your mind is working!"
Me:"Tell ya what!...."
Sandman:"Yeassss?" he says dryly, licking his lips, and fixing his white fedora hat..with the tips of his two top fingers and thumb.
Me:"I'll go to sleep, and then you can tell me, how I am doing...how's that?"
Sandman:"Well, I can't give you an absolute guarantee, unless, , , , , unless my dear....you try sleeping at the correct times..and you wake up when you are supposed to, check your blood sugar levels....and eat a good breakfast....I wanna see you do this for a week!!!!" (he laughs a loud...because he's betting that I can't do that!)
Me:"Look, Sand' I will try..."I start out saying..but, he stops me, with an inquisitive stare...
Sandman:"Na na noooooo! You GOTTA go to bed...and ya GOTTA sleep...there ain't no other deal here!"
Me:"Okay, and if I sleep, will you stop yammering away at me?!"
Sandman:"Well, I will be somewhat satisfied, that you tried....I'd be happier if you would just get off your high horse, and started listening to those around you, that care about you...and ALOT, I might add! YOu don't seem to care..and that has me quite worried...but, I will be glad to see you sleep....so I'll come back..and see ya later...
tah tah, my little sleeper!" and with that, he tipped the
fedora sideways with a click of his tongue and a wink in his eye!
Me: (to myself) "I am kind of tired....and I have errands to run, no use staying up till 6 am! Think I'll see if this "sleep" thing really works or not!!! LOL!"
Well, and we will see!

I am sure that "Sand'" will see, I can sleep...but, I sure do love to stay up!
