Soldier, Comrade, One Who knows...

You are an arm to grab
a person to share
you are a human that knows
the burdens we bear
Soldier, Comrade,
One who knows......
You are a quiet friend,
that silently mourns,
the soldiers we've
lost, our friends to the
end.
Soldier, comrade,
One who knows.....
You are a keeper of
secrets, a comrade
in arms, a trouper to
stand, and protector
from harm.
Soldier, Comrade,
One who knows....
You are sharp as
a razor, always thinking
up thoughts, you have
what it takes, a step ahead
of the plots..
Soldier, Comrade,
One who knows....
You are a person
that, only we would
trust, breaking our backs
for causes unjust.
Soldier, Comrade,
One who knows.....
We stand with you,
our work is not done,
we work together;
sealed fates with
our guns..

This was thought of for some army soldiers that I saw coming home to Arkansas...and about three of them went to a local cemetery to pay their respects to a fallen comrade....they all went together to let him know that they cared, and they missed him, but, respected what he had done in the war in Iraq...and it touched me..alot!
There are many unspoken thoughts that soldiers do not talk about...they just hold it deep in their hearts..and keep the photos of their friends with them, as a constant reminder for them to keep on going!
And I share this poem with the many from that state, as well as all over the world....and for your families too...I know that you miss your family everytime you have to leave.....!!!
