The Oldest Best Witch....

Age Group: Adult
She died on Halloween they claim,
the oldest witch in the books, they
say....
she used to fly and screech with flair
all of the witches, they knew who dared...
She was the loudest, and she was
the best, she flew with vigor and
she flew with much zest.
SHe taught them all how to scream
in the night, she saw to it, that they
practiced on nights....they followed
her while she zigged and she zagged
her broomstick would whizz, and there
went that hag!
She taught them to cackle and
fly over the moon, she taught them
to point fingers and to laugh
like the loons!
She sang magick songs,
the age old melodies,
the songs of their ancestors
of times before these.....
She was the highest, the
strongest witch of all, she
knew the powers, that could
bring down the walls!
She would make potions
that could make boulders
hurl, the mountains would
crumble and the sky would
unfurl..
She had the gift of" knowing
all", forever, things most
witches wish for, at once, and
all together!
She was the toughest, yet,
kind, thru and thru, but,
always teaching, so her
charges, would know
what to do.
She never hesitated to
be there in a swish,
she always helped the
others, oh yes, she had
a gift!
So now, this year, as they
did, all the years before,
they honor this great witch
and cast circles for her
galore....
and every Hallo's Eve,
when the moon is full and
bright, they look up to the Moon, and
they see a welcomed sight...
for night of all hallowed nights
that is when she
makes her move,
haunting in the night sky, and
gettin' on her groove!
