Escape......

Escape......
Hold tight
my hand
don't run
be not skittish like the deer,
Have no fear
stand straight and tall
eyes ahead,
silent , watching
wait, ....bend down now,
heart beating
racing like a hare
don't worry
we're almost there..
creep, crawl,
lie down here!
no sound
no movement
no, nothing at all!
Hide, hide ,
in the thick of it
tall trees, rambling greens
safe for now, sight unseen
when we get where we're
going to, remember the
dreams, hopes, wishes, lives,
the songs we sang--
to leave behind...
Remember our friends,
and nothing more
cuz' when we leave,
we "slam" this door!
