A Friend For The Night……

“I don’t see nothin’!
You aren’t really there!
It’s all my ‘maginiation,
That got me here!”
The boy turned away from
The ghost at the door,
And looked at his feet,
On the cold bathroom
Floor!
The ghost walked
Up closer, it hovered
Near by, , but the brave
Little kid, he sat
Numbly, didn’t cry!
“Like I told you,
you’re not real! Go away,
you dumb ghost!, cuz’,
if you don’t watch out,
I’ll bite you like toast!”
The ghost, gave a whimper,
And started to move,
It left the bathroom,
But let out a small boo!
“I only wanted a friend
for tonight,
I have trouble sleeping!”, the ghost
Cried, as he went to the light!
“I get lonely, when the other
Ghosts come out, ,
, , they want me to scare
others, to scream
And to shout!
But, that is
not me, no , no, no,
No siree! Won’t you pulllease
Let me spend
the night with you,
I promise,
that I will NOT scream
Boo!”
Well, .. that boy,
he was a lot kinder
Than you’d probably even
think, so after
cleaning up at the sink,
He said
“you may stay, you
Can share my bed,
you can
Tell me stories,
and you can rest
Your head!”
And from that night on,
They spent together,
They shared their lives,
And became forever…
The best of friends,
whom could always share,
They were honest, caring,
And they , yes,
I swear…
Never went out
On Halloween night, to
Scare little children
And give them a fright!
