No more life on a shelf!

He says…”If you keep on
Doing the same, eating and
Binging and playing these games, ..
You’ll end your life, in the
very same ways..
as my ex did, and she did with
no grace, she ate and she gained
and she was stubborn to face…
she wouldn’t eat good things, and ,
did things to herself..she kept right
on putting her life on a shelf..
Do you want, what she’s done? Do
You want your life to
come undone?
Don’t you wish you were
Healthy, without all of that weight?
If you start changing now, you can
Change your life’s fate……
…If you
Start to eat healthy and not eat
the sweets,
Eating and hiding and sneaking
The “treats”, you might live longer
And feel great at that, …you might
Just feel better, without all that
Fat!”
He tells me, and scolds me for
Thinking I’ve won, when really
The truth is I could come “undone”!
My life could just shatter into
Millions of places, if I keep on
Heading into those wild open
Spaces…
I guess I had better learn to
Back off from the snacks…
Learn better ways to ward
Off” sweet attacks!”
It’s hard, but I know,
This is just better for
Me , If I stop, and not go,
And think resiliently..
No more foods that can
End my tomarrows, ,
For I do , there’ll be
Just more sad sorrows..
I know I haven’t been
Fooling myself…
I have been lying to me,
And my life’s on a shelf!
I need to start looking
At new ways to view foods
And learn how to “get there”
Without attitudes!
It’s gonna be a long road,
But I can get there, I guess,
But for now, I must work it,
And get rid of my mess!

I haven't been exactly a terrifically honest person, even to myself...I have been eating and sneaking treats that I am NOT supposed to eat all that often...and I keep thinking.."hey, so far so good, okay the sugars have gone up, but that is about it..I am doing swell!" (well, what I am NOT looking at is the whole damn picture...!!!) I can start to lose kidneys, liver, heart, nerves, eyesight etc. functions...and I need to get on the stick..and start thinkin' quick! No wonder people are worried about me!! I THought that it was okay to have sugar every now and then, but every now and then, began to be a lot more often!!! More and more...and for a diabetic that is a capitol D for DANGEROUS!!!
I am just going to have to quit it!! BOy , this is a lot harder than I previously thought!!!
The poem is pretty accurate...as my hubby's ex wife had diabetes too, and she never "fixed" her eating problems..and that is partially why she isn't "here" any longer....I hope to change that , in MY life.....I REALLY, REALLY do!!! I would rather have a long life, , , than my life on a shelf!!! Ya know?!
