What's It Gonna Take?

You can't be eatin' whenever your feelin' like
chowing down on whatever you like!
Your carbs raise your sugars, and can hurt your liver
and then your glucose will be out O site!
But, don't ya mind me, I don't know
what I'm sayin' I am the "dumb one" and
you think I'm playin'!
So, do what you like, eat as much as you please,
but, don't cry on me,
when you lose your toes or your
knees!
Hey, I am thru tellin' you, not to do
this or that..you can keep goin' eatin'
more of your "crap!"
I guess you don't care, whether you
live or you die..
but, I'm gonna miss you,
and I'm gonna cry!
So, what's it gonna take for
you to end your "lyin' ways?"
Are you gonna eat, cheat or end
this idiotic craze?
Do you really want to live, or
are you just kiddin' me?
I really want to know, because
I am asking seriously!
You seem to have these thoughts
that you can keep on doing this...
but, I have to break your bubble..and
tell you your life will not be "bliss!"
If you continue, you might not live that long
it will be way too late to say"where did I
go wrong?!"
Well, that's all I've gotta say..but, I
hope you heard me well.
I am just the "dumb one" here..
as you can plainly tell!

This is a thing that my hubby tells me ALOT..and I know that he is correct..and he is NOT the dumb one..but, when he tells me NOT to eat certain things..and I refuse to listen to him...he says pretty much what you have read in this poem..almost word for word!!!
I have been dealing with relearning about what diabetes can and WILL do..if you do NOT listen to your body..if you do NOT pay attention..if you do not CARE...you might not be here anymore to say a darn thing about it!! (This is more for MY release in just writing about the stress of dealing with this disease, ) but, hey, if you hear what I am saying..YOU take the time..and really sit down and THINK about YOUR diabetes too!! IT is a really unfair and UGLY disease..and YES!! YOU can die from it..but, you can LIVE..if you LOVE yourself a LOT harder, and you don't do the really lame and idiotic stupid stuff too!!!! I am just gonna have to do some heavy thinkin' and some much harder work on MY part..because that poem is about how I am dealing with the diabetes..and I am NOT doing all that great, either!!! :- (
I am just gonna have to really "step it up" and then some!!!
