Bird watchin'.....

Lately I have really gotten into bird feeding and bird watching!
I love to watch the baby sparrows being fed by their daddio's! LOL!
I thought that the mothers fed the birds..but, after looking this up in the bird books..I learned a few things!!
But, I also happen to think that some of the things that you see in OUR world, you may just see in theirs! One example of similarity is I was in a business park near my home..with a lot of tall green trees..and a ton of fresh green grass, , and I was watching and taping the birds, while standing with bare feet in the cool shade..It was pleasant to say the least. I stood there, mostly taping.bird songs..and suddenly this female robin came up to the male robin.. (who by the way is really pretty!!) and she started to chirp a mile a minute..and I could almost picture their conversation..."I thought that I would find you here! Hurry up and get home and feed or watch the youngsters..all you do here is eat and hop around and do NOTHING!!" LOL!!
I swear, it looked just like "mama" was naggin' daddy, yet again!! LMAO!!!
Also, this mornin' saw some type of black and brown chubby bird..who was hanging with a smaller chubby gray bird on a pine tree. They both sat on the branch fixing their feathers..and then, the moment that I went indoors, after being out on my little terrace..they came to stand and eat in the bird dish that I put out for all of the birds.They were eating merrily away and suddenly, while I watched thru the door, and with my good binoculars..I no longer saw a bird with black and brown feathers..what I saw was a chubby little man in a black and brown suit! LOL!!
Sometimes I see so much character and "posionality" in those birds!!
They really are pretty quirky..I have nicknames for the doves..that I sometimes slip and call "pidgeons!"
I call the doves "Mr. and Ms. Oblivious" as they will stand in the dish, totally unaware of the other birds in their midst..pecking most diligently at the seeds and tossing the other seeds out of the dish!
They have no idea that there are other little sparrows or other kinds of birdies..under their tails and so forth!!
We have had crows, show up..and stand on the railings..but, they have not taken any food as of yet! (so far so good...I guess!!)
I had a dream that a huge bird showed up on the porch..and that I did NOT know just exactly what to do!! It was about the size of a pelican!! LOL!!
But, luckily it was ONLY a DREAM!!!
(but then again, I don't know WHAT could happen..as there are geese, and hawks and turkey vultures out here as well!! LMAO!!!)
Just simply love my little feather buddies! LOL!!
I wonder...If I one day get a cat..can you train them to NOT go after the birds?
I don't want to have a dead birdy!! :- (
