All These Years.....

All these years...
I waited to see you, once again
and hope that you might see me too..
I guess that I "thought" that you
were supposed to be
"in my life"...but..
I think not!
When I step back..and honestly
look at what I see now..
I do NOT see what I "believed" these
many years ago!
No, You and I ..were NOT meant
for one another..EVEN when I knew
it, and left for another..
So many years back, I pined for you
I waited and hoped, dreamed and cried..
but, you were NOT coming back
to me.
Now..so many years later..
You come sauntering back into
my life..and I stand, empty handed
but, I am not alone..nor
am I unhappy in my life ..
I went thru the changes, of wishing,
hoping, waiting, missing..crying..
and knowing later..
you were Never going to be
MINE!
It was soo difficult to accept
that I chose this..and I knew that
this was "the right" decision that I
had made those many years back..
It's a strange feeling, for me
to know that you have come back
but, I cannot give back to you
any , longer...and I am
happy in my life..I move on and
with grace.....

I just recently got a letter from a person with whom I used to love..but, I had to let that person know that I moved on..and that I am happy! I hope that he is happy too! I really don't wish any ill will..and it's funny, because for years..I think that I honestly did wish bad things towards him (because I was angry during those times way back) , while at the same time..wishing that he would "drop" everything to be with me...
This was NOT to be, ..and that's alright!!
I am a LOT happier..and I would rather be happier than NOT at all!!!
Life sure hands you interesting things in your life..but, you have to learn how to move on with the changes!!
