Hippie Girl

Hippie girl you capture me
Dancing barefoot in the sun
Your gypsy eyes are hypnotic
Hair wild and undone
Your style as sweet as freedom
Your heart radiates light
Love is your mantra
Let's chant it through the night
Hippie girl you astound me
You smile at all around
Dancing even in the silence
To the starlight's cosmic sound
Your address is where you're standing
Your clothes are on your back
You would give them all away
If you could ease another's lack
Hippie girl, you're an artist
You're a poet, you are sage
Your body lives in this world
But heart and soul in another age
Earth is still your mother
You sleep each night in her arms
You are her protector
When others mean her harm
Hippie girl never change
The world needs you more each day
We have forgotten how to laugh
We have forgotten how to play
Take us back to innocence
Help us remember love
Until we all are dancing barefoot
Beneath the tie-dye sun above
