before i was but a shell
wounded and broken
in the silent night
wondering when it will end
wondering when the pain would subside.
trying to ignore the screeching whispers behind my back
each night sobbing
wishing for an escape.
each day that left
but always came.
night by night, i no longer dreamed
how can they have taken this from me...
i slept a sleepless dream, when...
i saw this shadow befall me,
i was not scared
in fact i felt safe
i took comfort in knowing
that my life was gonna change
Author's Notes: this is something i just came up with. This is my first shot at poetry since 3rd grade, so i understand it isn't perfect but, i like it. It is based on my experience in 6th grade. Now it's all good.. :) during this time i think i was going through my dark night of the soul. also i'm very interested in what you think, so please let me know.
