The Birth of Solstice
by April Voxfire
Age Group: Adult
The river is deep
and I don't know
where it takes me
a bottomless dream
that stretches and begs to be alive
To breathe and taste the air
heavy with the smell of rain
an amber sunset waving goodbye
through the treetops
Night is calling
and it speaks to me in a mystic tune
that can only be understood with
imagination and desire
Freedom is calling
release me from the terror of forgetting
who I am and what I was sent to do
I am little phoenix
A happy little flame
agape at the wonder of life
floating and dreaming
May I never forget my name!
