In a Quiet World

In a quiet world
I sit and sigh
And smile and wave
As Time flies by
Bees don’t buzz
Birds don’t sing
From a babbling brook
I hear not a thing
Thoughts drift past
My inner eye
And I smile and wave
as Time flies by
In a quiet would
I sit on the ground
Basking in silence
Wishing for sound
The hum of crickets
The whisper of trees
Rubbing their branches
That knock in the breeze
Lay back and watch clouds
That drift past the sky
And smile and wave
As Time flies by
