You, Woman

You, Woman
The relation of child to Mother
is the basis of all life on Earth.
It is this sacred bond and no other
to which all living things owe their birth.
As the great living mass of the planet
is the child whose mother is Earth,
so the mothers of men are the granite
to which all human culture is girthed.
As each of history’s nations
has relied on the Mother-child bond,
so you, Woman, are the foundation
which the love of our family is built on.
