Although the land is frozen, the life within it stirs.
Within the cauldron’s sable womb, the winter's dark abyss
Awaits new life for winter’s end and springtime’s honeyed kiss.
Be still, and you can hear Faun’s pipes among the snow-tipped firs.
Though snow and ice and fearsome storms may howl at night,
The nights grow shorter with each change of night and day.
A Royal Maid has come to whom the Gray Lord must obey,
For it is He who crowned Her with a wreath of light.
Queen of the Four Fires, known to the folk as the fair Brigid.
Flames from her hands to bend strong iron to her will!
The fire of hearth and home to serve her at her feet!
The tongue ablaze with song, Compassion’s glow to heal the ill!
A fair queen shall she make -- this Maiden pure and coy!
Therefore cast off all gloom and fill your hearts with joy!
