Samhain

The wheel again turns to a time of dark
The Sun God has taken his leave
The Goddess descends with a gentle spark
Frozen tears are the proof that she grieves
Bobbing torches light the path
Druid and Priestess together
moonlight soaks like a silvery bath
the cool, crisp landscape of heather.
The Tor-side thrums with power
awaiting the ritual to come
initiates await the sacred hour
for the chance to dance and drum
The smell of smoke permeates the air
drumming rythyms fill you senses
the balefires lit and she is there
the veil is thin...energy condenses
The bards now play a mournful tune
as the ancestor procession begins
by the light of the Lady's Moon
you see your lost loved ones..and grin
Shadow decends, and you sense the shift
energy courses through your veins
visions flash, and your sent adrift
to a journey through times and planes
A Lady standing on a sunken Isle
the the giving of a sacred sword
a burning sign on a funeral pire
a hero's soul reborn
The horned one makes his presence known
for one last time this year
Druid and Priestess stand alone
for they know there is nothing to fear.
Avalon pays homage to those that have past
for we know we will see them again
This life that were living is not the last
Life begins and ends with Samhain
