My Own Baneful Tune

Age Group: Adult
Round and round and round we go
Moving fast, moving slow
Watching life’s turning pages
Time moving through all ages
Widdershins around we dance
Blithely living the sacred trance
And now the moon has reached the dark
The night’s honor we do mark
Time to revere the dark lady
Whose eyes we need and fear greatly
She is the karmic wheel
Which carries knowledge of every ordeal
Destruction is her necessary tool
Ignore this knowledge and you’re a fool
For with destruction comes the prize
A new place for creation shall arise
And now to her do we reach
“Cast out the poisons” we beseech
And may disease take it’s flight
Underneath this night’s starlight
Chase away those who truly harm
If they come, raise the alarm
Now has come the time to banish
All the unneeded things we wish
With her power we force away
In our lives that which should not stay
But if it’s her will that something happens
May we view it with a wise lens

Author's Notes: I couldn't find a "baneful tune" so I studied all the stuff I could find and wrote my own. It doesn't take from anyone (that I know of)
I wanted something that I could use. I thought it was pretty good, so did my husband who composes his own rap lyrics (and his rhymes a pretty good, at least the rap fans in the area think so.)
Write me if you have any questions or suggestions. I want this poem be better than it is now.
