Rumble Rumble Roar

Rumble, rumble, roar
Clouds turn to bed and mattress
May the great god snore
He will twist and turn
And dream of peace and quiet
While the world may burn
It will burn greatly
From human battle and war
And the god has shut his eyes
And sleeps forever more
So he will not see
And he sleeps and sleeps
While rumble, rumble, roar
Is heard on earth

The way I wrote this is for the god mentioned to be Mars, the Roman god of war. At the moment, a war is going on on earth that is so terrible not even a god of war can stand it. The humans have done horrors way beyond what Mars ever thought they were capable. He does encourage war, and humans create war, for many reasons, but the war god never thought the humans could go this far in battle and make things this bad. Now, all the war god wants is peace. This may cause one to ask why he does not do something about it, instead of just going to sleep and ignoring it. Unfortunately, Mars is in charge of starting wars, not stopping them. It is up to the humans to find a way to stop a war that has started. All Mars can do now is go to sleep and hope when he wakes there will still be life on earth.
