Samhain; Invocation to the Dead

Samhain; Invocation to the Dead
Unto this world I shall not morn,
Thought I miss her of human form.
Beckoning as the Autumns leaves fall.
Upon this magickal Samhain night we call.
We await the ending of our mystical year,
When the veils again return so sheer.
Spirits will walk among us on this eve,
Hearkening just beyond the sunset breeze.
We may hear their voices if we dare,
Like prickly sparks dancing upon the air.
In the glowing of our candles light,
Faces once past come in the night.
As the shadows move across the walls,
We hear your footsteps in the hall.
We watch for you and seek you near,
You are our loved ones, we hold no fear.
As the portals now open wide,
We beckon thee from the other side.
Ancestral dead, we bid you come in,
Be you stranger, family or friend.
When you come we sense you near,
Those now dead that we hold so dear.
We feel your presents drifting on icy air,
Souls in truth within this circle are bare.
Our circle of love is awaiting you here,
We bid you welcome on this dawning new year.
The curtains are drawn that you my enter in,
As you are walking the veils of the Summerland.
We shall not miss you upon this Samhain night,
When the boundary turns and the veils open to light,
Ancestors come and join in our feast,
A celebration of life, a celebration of peace.
Let us share these hours until the dawning calls,
When the sheerest of veils, becomes a thickening wall.
Then we shall bid thee farewell again,
As you return in peace to thy Summerland.
