A Summery Poem
by Miss Molly
Age Group: Adult
Look! at how the leaves fold
and peel back like insect legs,
bending, bending!
Lightly the stickbugs put little
feet fore and aft, gently the
sparrow lifts its body from the trees--
weightless, weightless.
Hear off in yon holler nimble fingers
at dad's banjo. See
the shadows of grams and gramps
waltzing beneath long pine silhouettes--
complete, complete.
Author's Notes: I experimented with repetition. Woo-hoo!
