The Witches Voice

I sit here among the fire and i look at the stars
I wonder what the pleasure that fills my body wants
i sit reading these stars and awaiting their judgement on me
knowing that they sing and have no design but to burn away
perhaps being a witch is to burn away in a very cold sky
or perhaps being a witch is bring warmth to that coldness
even if it is going to lay us to sleep
i sit here with my circle about me and my staff ever held in may hand and i wonder
i ask the goddess and she says call and i will come
so i call to her and she sits at my fire saying
where are the others ones
i look into the fire and see many faces and to her i point and say those
to which she says even a witch with a grand fire like your own
can't be friendless or lonly when your of my nature
so seek those that seek you
and then we will sit by the fire again and chat
so i sit by the fire and i wonder
