And She Did Answer

Age Group: Teen
I stood on the tip of the
Tallest mountain I could
Find and screamed until my
Throat was raw
"Goddess, show me your moon!"
I lay in the bottom of the
Lowest valley as I
Begged with my hands
Crossed over my heart
"Goddess, hold me in your arms!"
I knelt in the soft
Sands before the great and mighty
Sea whispering as the
Waves lapped at my feet
"Goddess, soothe and comfort me!"
And when the long awaited
Stillness crept over me like the
Warmth of a friendly fire I
Heard a voice around me
"Daughter, I am here!"
Author's Notes: This poem is in reaction to the hard lesson that the Goddess does not come when you are trying too hard to see her, but when you open yourself to her manifestation in nature and the world, when you are still and listen.
