The Wiccan

by Spectra
 Age Group: Adult

The Wiccan
There he stands, tall, mysterious, and quiet. His is chin a little higher than most people and bright hope. Ever in sight but yet oh so out of touch from society. He holds his hand out for companionship and now people look away. Behind his back, they start curious about his personality and his secrecy. Can he be trusted amongst the people? Or be ostracized because he is different. When he workouts his necklace reflects the sun off the metal pendant causing attention to be drawn to him. This man, different from the rest of the society he lives in sits in his room always reading. Always opening and closing his third eye. And always constantly transcending to better himself to survive in the world. His purpose in the world is not for the good of the entire world but for the better good of himself and those he cares about. When he talks to people, they feel nervous and uncertain about the aura he projects compared to other people in their world. And when he leaves their presence, it is as if they traveled to a new world. Does this happen all the time? Or does this happen when people know of his secret? Then what of the people that exist in his society? Maybe someday, they will understand who he is and will be able to transcend along with him.
The Wiccan
He sits at his desk in a deep meditation. The world constantly bustling around him and yet he does nothing to acknowledge that it exist. In his mind he sees darkness but feels purifying light. His body is engulfed by the glow and strong energy of the natural energy around him. A big pentagram appears beneath his feet and he stands in the middle of it and lets the excess energy swirl around him. Chills are sent up and down his body as the spirits and the god and goddess enter and leave his body. His body, also being drained of all energy is constantly being replaced by the energy around him. He holds on tight to his conscious for if it slips he is a goner. He whispers words of prayer and blessings and new hope for those he cares about and himself. Soon, the energy slows down around him causing the spin of the seal to slow down and His eyes to adjust to the real world. Thanking the spirits and gods and goddesses he blows out the candle and grounds himself for the night.
Author's Notes: This poem is a two part poem. The title is based off of a name someone gave to me since they did not know my name but they knew what I was. Anywho the poem talks about me in my everyday life at the academy. The second part is based off of some of my rituals that I do at night when my roommates sleep.
