Hidden
by Soaring
Age Group: Adult
Hidden under a black cloak of fear,
I wait for someone to notice,
Paranoid and alone, afraid of the darkness I cast,
I wait for someone to notice,
Invisible to all who I count the closest,
I wait for them to notice,
A shadow amid a crowd of people,
I wait for them to notice,
A tug, a tiny insistent hand,
Pulls at a corner of fabric,
I shy away, burrowing deeper,
Hoping and yet terrified,
Hidden under a black cloak of fear,
Someone has noticed.
Paranoid, but no longer alone,
Someone has noticed,
Visible to those I count closest,
They have noticed,
A face among a crowd of people,
They have noticed,
A tug, a tiny insistent hand,
Pulls at a corner of fabric,
I am revealed, small underneath,
Light invading my corners.
