Closer
by Soaring
Age Group: Teen
Light surrounds us,
Darkness escapes us,
Pulsing and fighting both ways.
But is that all there is?
The feeling, the torture,
The awe and the reverence,
Bestowed on something so immaterial,
So invisible to the eye,
And yet so touchable and so easily
Captured by that which has already been captured.
Curious, and the curious,
Drawn into its chasm,
Like doves are drawn into cages.
But is it terrible?
Or is it just terrifying?
A fear of things unknown,
So close to the heart of everything.
Author's Notes: I'm not sure where this came from... and yet it makes complete sense. Weird, huh? Anyways, I hope you enjoy/ed it.
