Bitter Wisdom

In this place this holy hour
With evergreen surround
a simple truth is once yet found
Unknowest you until you knew, for the obvious overlooked
This is a wisdom that can't be gathered from a mere scroll nor book
for knowledge is cruel master
it twists and turns and changes
For what once was truth and strong belief, is now but tale of ancient
If a chord was struck from angels lute
or a note from the feys' soft flute
you would not hear
oh not a sound
not the whispers from underground
nor the cries of elders sorrow
But yet your brain and pointless thoughts, just to be disproved tomorrow.
