Beach Print

Age Group: Adult
Small footprints on the sand,
As I held my babys hand.
His first time on the beach,
He looks at the water too far to reach.
He stares at the shell below,
And reaches down very slow.
He picks one up & holds it tight,
Not to sure if he did right.
I nod my head that it's okay,
He holds my hand to guide the way.
I look back & see the small prints on the sand,
And know one day he'll be a man, w/ children of his own.
Walking on this same old beach,
Holding his child by the hand,
Watching footprints on the sand.
