Smoked Filled Car

Going on rides in a smoked filled car
On trips that seemed too far.
With Uncle Edgar and Aunt Carrie Lee
Cruising around, visiting family.
I was always in the back
Where the smoke would come attack.
My eyes and my nose
I tried to keep closed.
And I'd swear when I grew up
I wouldn't do such stuff.
I missed so many scenes
Because my eyes couldn't tolerate the sting.
At night while I slept
Yellow sleepies crept.
I'd awake to find
My eyes glued together, feeling blind.
I tried not to complain
Regardless of the pain.
I Loved them far too much
Even though, it made my trips tough.
