Inward drew

by Alisdaire
 Age Group: Adult

There was a day when the cool fresh breeze filtered through the broad thick trees laid upon the rivers edge the breath Of the mornings Dew. A song filled the air one that held within it the fair Cries of the thrush That sang its ready chorus through The moments shade this play of immortals upon the land Where Gods roamed with man. A time when the world anew dressed upon the thick veils of this and the other realms glimmered like a sacred jewel The crown that fit the destined few That would in time become the tales that floats upon the valleys vales and comes down through the passage of time The stories of the old ones. I see the old Gaelic tongue switch craft upon the words it sung Summoning the elements to the charge of the will of the Druids at large and here upon the hush of day The dragon knew its merry way and crisp as the dew upon the ground man to man in wisdom found The lays of the world. Times when old and young were bound to the sacred will that flowed around Held the visions of the morning bright where magic gleamed first its light and drew upon the structures of the world The ways from which we spring. That day to light as dark to night holds us all imprisoned within to the loss we feel and know to true that this world is now but a glimmer, a hue of all that once sprang eternal and grand when Gods touched the mortal hand and talked with us of the ways laid our world to the dazzled days when light birthed ever anew the souls of mortal that inward drew The blessings of their sound.
