A Faery's Song

A Faery’s Song
The sisters were a funny lot
They flew, they danced, they played
They raised the veil for all to see
On special, holy days
Life was magical and wonderful
In oh so many ways
Invisible, astral and physical
Are the forms that we would take
Although it’s not your eyes you use
If contact you would make
(Unless of course you saw me once
As owl, wolf or snake) .
Faery sister I really got you,
Saying “I’m prettier than thee”
Giggling as I zipped close by
And flew off like a bee
Laughing as I looked back
To see you spilt your tea
There’s much to do this sunny day
With my sisters in the bog
There’s flowers to heal, there’s clouds to chase
And I just MUST tease the frog
Hurry sisters man soon awakes!
And you’re resting on that log?
With our mother Goddess
We sometimes flew to thee
Oh kindly witch and wizard
Whose heart was pure and free
I cried tears for your sacrifice
You only want man free
Then mother goddess kissed me
And I was soon asleep
To awaken millennia later
A human girl? That’s me?
Wait, these are human eyes
I don’t like what I see.
I soon forgot my sisters
As life after lifetime ran
Until magic was lost within me
And I was this strange old man.
Is this what I am all about?
Is this some horrid ban?
But wait I see now mother.
I’m sorry it took so long
You sent us back to join the rest
So together we’d be strong
In bringing back the magic
The world has missed so long.
I’m sorry fellow witches
That it took so very long
For me to join you once again
To help make magic strong
To help the world be free again
Where all spirits belong
I now see my sisters’ eyes
In you witches and magic throng
We’ll still visit Mother’s garden
But for now we here belong
So all the others may join us
When we help to make them strong.
