Hail to the Blizzard

The beauty of the Mother's Love
Falls in each snowflake, blessing Her children,
Blanketing the Earth in quiet stillness
Even as I feel the chill deep in my bones,
I feel the warmth, deep in my soul.
Joy reflecting in each flake
Tumbling down from the heavens above;
A gift from Her.
I gather Lady Winter's glistening blanket around me
and envelop myself in the wondrous magick
that She creates.
I welcome the blizzard as it surrounds me
in prayerful silence
Entreating me to slow down and notice the beauty it contains,
filling me with awe.
A snowflake melts on my tongue;
a crystal drop of the waters of life,
a sip from the chalice of heaven.
quenching the thirst of a weary traveller,
providing strength for the journey ahead.
Author's Notes: I spend so much time hoping for the swift passing of winter that I often fail to recognize its beauty until it smacks me across the face and makes me take notice.
A blizzard will do that. Instead of cursing it for slowing down my busy schedule, this time I choose to give thanks.
